Josh Wildeboer, Treasurer
I’ve been in the tree service industry for over 7 years. It wasn’t an intentional career choice; it sort of chose me. I have always loved the outdoors and when the opportunity came in late 2000 to work for my dad’s tree service, Superior Tree Care, I took it.
I was a ground worker for the first three years then started climbing, operating bucket trucks, and performing tree care treatments. I became SDArA certified in 2004 then ISA certified in 2005.
While working for Superior I attended school at Southeast Technical Institute and graduated with an Associates degree in business administration. My business education has been a great tool in aiding my dad in the growth of an effective and efficient business.
In 2005 Superior expanded its services to provide lawn care and I was promoted to the tree and shrub care operations manager which is the position I currently hold today.
In late 2004 I became the treasurer and newsletter publisher for the South Dakota Arborist Association.
I thoroughly enjoy what I do and I would have to say the most exhilarating part of my job is when I get to climb. One climbing experience that stands out in my mind is when I removed the dead out of a 110ft cottonwood.
Take care and be safe so you can go home to those you work so hard for.
